Kasi, Nick and I had a total blast wandering around Tower Grove at the end of September – it was that weekend where it was like 90 something degrees but looked like fall. St. Louis weather never ceases to amaze me. I’ve known Kasi for a while now, and the better I get to know her, the more badass I realize she is. Not only does she kick major butt at life, she is one of the most thoughtful and kind humans I know, and is always willing to extend her hand or her ear if you need it. Also, she looks incredible in crushed velvet. She and Nick are adorable – they’d never really had pictures taken together before, and I felt truly honored they let me capture their love for each other. We had a rousing conversation about gross words, who would survive longer in the event of a zombie apocalypse (Kasi) and what would happen if she pushed Nick into the pond (spoiler alert, she didn’t. Whew.) They are both complete goofballs, and they clearly have a deep and meaningful connection with each other, in addition to a ridiculous shared sense of humor. We laughed a lot, but I also got to witness moments of peaceful connection where they were so clearly in tune with one another that everything else in the periphery almost ceased to exist. As they say, “Home is wherever I’m with you.” Bonus points for the fact that we got some magical golden hour Stevie Nicks dreamy 70s Gold Dust Woman afternoon vibes going on. Kasi and Nick, thanks for sharing your relationship with me – it’s inspiring. Let’s do it again sometime, and bring Rick the Chinchilla, too!
