Katie & Matt • Sunny Winter Wedding at Silver Oaks

Y’all. Katie and Matt are just too much. Last year at some point, I was fortunate enough to be included in a new wedding package Silver Oaks was offering for February 2019 and from the first email Katie sent me, I knew I was just going to love her. She is the sweetest gal, with a completely infectious smile and just this inherent kindness that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years; You can’t look at her and Matt together and NOT smile. In other words, my face hurts from putting this blog post together; they light up around each other in such a way that it makes me grin even looking at the photos.

She and Matt live outside of DC and were planning remotely, putting together a beautiful February wedding at Silver Oaks – it was chilly but sunny and we really lucked out, considering it had been snowing just the week prior! In addition, the wind was crazy and Katie had a beautiful cathedral length veil. So, this gal was a happy photog. During their first look, the veil just took off on its own, and made for some pretty epic pictures! Furthermore, their afternoon was full of glowy light and, even better, an incredible sunset, and since they’re basically models, their couples portraits are some of my very favorites.

Above all, their day was full of sincerity and joy, and I feel so fortunate to have been included – Katie and Matt, thank you for sharing your wedding day with me, for being troopers in the wind, and most importantly, for introducing me to Cardi B.
